Clura (“Clura”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates www.clura.ai and related services (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use the Service (the “Policy”), and explains your privacy rights. By accessing or using the Service you accept the practices described in this Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent you have authority to bind that organization to this Policy.

Capitalized words used in this Policy have the meanings set out below. Definitions apply equally in singular and plural forms.

  • Account — a unique account created for you to access parts of the Service.
  • Affiliate — an entity that controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with a party (control = >50% ownership or equivalent).

  • Country — Karnataka, India.
  • Device — any device that can access the Service (computer, phone, tablet).

  • Service — Clura’s applications, browser agents, APIs, dashboards, and related features provided at www.clura.ai.

  • You — the individual or entity using the Service.

What We Collect

  • Payment information: billing details and payment method via our payment processors (we do not store full card numbers; processors do).
  • Credentials & connectors: credentials, API keys, or tokens that you provide to enable connectors or agent access to third-party systems — only if you expressly provide them and you confirm you are authorized to do so.
  • Inputs & Outputs: inputs you upload or create (e.g., target URLs, scraping rules, transformation scripts, job descriptions, documents) and Outputs produced for you (scraped/cleaned datasets, transcripts, reports). If Inputs include personal data, that personal data becomes part of what we process as described here.
  • Communications & support: messages, support requests, and related correspondence.
  • Feedback: ideas or comments you provide about the Service.

Usage Data & Device Data (Automatically Collected)

We automatically collect Usage Data when you use the Service, including:

  • IP address, device identifiers, browser type/version, operating system.
  • Pages and features used, timestamps, session duration, event logs, error reports, agent activity logs.
  • Performance and diagnostics used to improve and secure the Service.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

How We Use Personal Data

  • Account management — registration, authentication, billing, and user support (contractual necessity / legitimate interest).
  • Payments & billing — process orders, refunds, and collections via third-party payment processors (contractual necessity).
  • Security & fraud prevention — detect abuse, investigate incidents, and protect infrastructure (legitimate interest).
  • Product improvement & analytics — analyze Usage Data to improve the platform (legitimate interest / anonymized analytics).
  • Communications — service messages, updates, promotions (consent for marketing where required; you can opt out of promotional emails).
  • Legal compliance — comply with laws, respond to lawful requests (legal obligation).
  • Business operations — mergers, acquisitions, or asset transfers (legitimate interest / legal necessity).

Training, Models & Your Content

Your Inputs and Outputs: you retain ownership of Inputs and Outputs. We use them to operate the Service (e.g., to run a scrape, produce Outputs, debug, secure the Service). We will not use your Inputs or Outputs to train Clura’s persistent machine learning models or share them with third parties for model training unless you provide explicit, informed consent. You can manage training consent and data usage preferences within account settings.

Sharing & Disclosure

We may share Personal Data in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: vendors who perform services on our behalf (hosting, analytics, email, payment processing). They are contractually required to process data only per our instructions.
  • Affiliates: within the Clura group, subject to this Policy.
  • Business transfers: in connection with mergers, asset sales, or financing — recipients will be required to honor protections.
  • Legal obligations: when required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
  • With your consent: where you authorize disclosure (for example, sharing outputs publicly or exporting data to a third party you select).

Cross-Border Transfers

Data may be processed in India and in other jurisdictions where our Service Providers operate. Where data is transferred across borders, we take reasonable steps (contractual safeguards, security controls) to ensure appropriate protection consistent with this Policy. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.

Retention & Deletion

We retain Personal Data only as long as necessary to provide the Service, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary by data type (account records, billing, Usage Data, backups). You may delete or request deletion of your Content and account data via account settings or by contacting us at hi@clura.ai. Certain data may remain in backups or logs for a limited time, or be required to be retained by law.

Your Rights

Subject to local law, you may have rights including accessing, correcting, exporting, restricting processing of, and deleting your Personal Data. Certain rights may be limited where necessary to comply with legal obligations or to protect others.

Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect Personal Data. These measures include access controls, encryption in transit, and security monitoring.
